My husband and I stopped by Mr. Ramen for a late lunch/early dinner, and it definitely did not disappoint! There was plenty of parking, lots of seating inside, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We were greeted quickly and had our drinks shortly after sitting down. They do not serve cocktails, but they offer sake and Japanese beer along with non-alcoholic drinks. We started with the edamame sticks, which were perfectly crispy on the outside with a warm, soft, flavorful filling. The pork gyoza were some of the best I’ve had in a long time—golden and crisp on the bottom, tender inside, and cooked to perfection. We also tried the folded kimbap, which was packed with rice, seasoned beef, vegetables, and egg wrapped in seaweed. It was filling, fresh, and absolutely delicious. For our entrées, we both ordered the beef yakisoba. The noodles were savory and well-seasoned, with plenty of tender beef, vegetables, sesame seeds, and a rich sauce that brought everything together. The portions were very generous... I ended up taking almost my entire entrée home, which made for perfect leftovers. The reviews on this place was what brought us to this Ramen place. Unfortunately, the food was overall disappointing. We ordered the chicken karage for an appetizer and when it came out, it looked and tasted like the ones you get from Trader Joes. It even had that unfrozen and air fried taste. The ramen was ok for the ones that came out with all the ingredients. My wife's ramen looked fine until she tasted the broth and it was flavorless. On the surface it looked good but tasted like water. We had to send it back and the waitress acknowledged the cook may have missed a few steps. They are obviously working with store bought kits instead of in house made ingredients. They offered a mild discount of 3 dollars for having her wait even longer for the cook to get it right. None of the food was really that good and there were gnats in the restaurant. Just a few too many reasons not to come back. Highly not recommended!

We were seated fast and had our orders taken just as quickly. I like the interior decorations and the lighting feels very warm. I ordered the Moonstone plum sake and while I haven’t had sake before I did enjoy it. I got my seafood ramen and I like I can choose what broth goes with what noodles and protein. The seafood ramen was incredible. It was very filling and delicious. I would easily recommend this place if you are wanting ramen

We were really craving ramen and found this place while visiting San Antonio! I could tell right off the bat that the owner was great based on the front page of the menu. They offer to fix any problem just by texting them directly! The service was great and the servers were never hovering. Food was amazing, too! Austin doesn’t have many ramen chooses so this was a plus. It’s rare that I get seafood with my ramen. I was looking forward to the Takoyaki, especially, which was sooo yummy. I LOVE squid options. 10/10 would come again for sure. The seasonal options are awesome!

Really good place. Friendly staff. Great food. Everything was delicious. We had Ramen and the squid. Everything came out hot and fresh. They have a selection of imported beers, sakes, and other drinks. I highly recommend Mr Ramen for the best ramen near me.
